There are a number of opportunities throughout the year to support a PYA event as a sponsor and showcase your company. With members from over 90 countries around the world, as well as connections with all the top management, charter, training and recruitment companies, not to mention the yachting press, the PYA is in a unique position to be able to promote your brand within the yachting industry. The PYA is a non-profit, trade association which was founded in 1991. It is not a union. Its primary mission is to represent the interests of professional yacht crew from around the world. With members from over 90 countries, the PYA is THE representative body for professional yacht crew. The current Rules of the PYA can be read here. PYA Statutes (French) 15.12.2017 .pdf Download PDF • 118KB The MCA-approved Digital Service Record Book (D-SRB) is essential for anyone wishing to progress their yachting career, applying for an NoE or CoC, revalidating a CoC or proving time spent at sea to an employer. Using a Digital Service Record Book is the preferred method by the MCA of recording and verifying sea time. In fact, the MCA announced that as from the beginning of 2017, if sea service is submitted to them that has not been previously verified, it will result in significant delays to the issue of the NoE or CoC. In short, using the PYA's services will make the process a LOT easier and a LOT quicker for crew! With the support and knowledge of unpaid Directors, Council members, with hundreds of years of combined yachting experience, the PYA team in Antibes helps members daily by providing accurate, unbiased advice on certification, training, welfare, and regulations. The PYA attends policy meetings with MCA and other administrators to ensure that yacht crew are being fairly represented, and works hard to ensure that the future of the Superyacht industry is being shaped to take into account the best interest of the people who actually live and work onboard yachts. Blue Oceans is a new brand name for an old company established more than 42 years ago in 1982 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Crew Unlimited was the first ever dedicated yacht crew agency world-wide. In 2002, we introduced the first online crew recruitment portal and in 2004, recognizing that it is the crew that makes the charter, we expanded into charter management and brokerage becoming the first to allow guests to search for charter yachts by the crew who work onboard. In 2016, we expanded further into yacht brokerage, management and crew training through a partnership with Blue Water in Antibes and re-branded as Bluewater USA. In March of 2021, we terminated our affiliation. It was then that our beautiful Blue Oceans name and brand was born, from the need for a name that encompasses the full scope of our services. By the end of 2021, Blue Oceans sold our first two yachts, a 26m $6m Italian Dreamline, and a 40m $10m Benetti, providing yacht management services to both. Fast forward to 2024, Blue Oceans now has luxurious offices in both Antibes, France in the Galerie du Port and on Las Olas Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale, Florida with a culinary and interior training center in Fort Lauderdale to assess chefs for their Ship’s Cook Certificate and train Cook/Stewardesses.
