On Monday 3rd December ISWAN The International Seafarers' Welfare and Assistance Network's will present the results of their recent survey of crew welfare issues on superyachts. This Report is likely to highlight common welfare problems met by crew serving on superyachts such as sexual harassment, bullying, stress and emotional issues, conditions of employment, and crew agreements.
ISWAN has invited the PYA to participate in the subsequent discussion and a PYA Director will be on the panel. We would also like to send five other PYA members to participate: ideally Captains or senior crew who will be in the London area on that day and who have experience in dealing with crew and crew welfare issues. The PYA will support any member wishing to attend on our behalf by meeting reasonable travel costs of up to a maximum of 120 Euros.
Interested? - please email me PYA CEO - Capt Andy Crawford at ceo@pya.org or even call into the office in Antibes.
