Overview:

In light of the recent decree regarding French Social Security payments for seafarersGEPYPYA and IYM are hosting a tri-association seminar in which a panel of experts will address the many unanswered questions that the yachting industry have on the subject. This will be the first time that representatives from the French government have liaised with our sector in this way, so the answers relayed at this seminar will be directly 'from the horse's mouth'.

The speakers will present their information to the audience in French, however there will be full translation to English available, with a bi-lingual chairperson.

Entrance & registration:

This event is free for members of any of the three associations to attend, with an entrance fee for non-members.

Members will receive a unique code by email, which they can enter when they register to gain free access.

All attendees must pre-register online, and this will close at 12:00 on the day of the seminar.

Agenda:

  • Welcome and introductions

  • Brief overview of facts and issues, including ILO maritime conventions, MLC 2006, explanation of the decree, the difference between residence and domicile.

  • Questions and answers - the three associations have spent the past weeks collating many of the questions our members have. These have been submitted to the government representatives who will be present on the day, so that accurate answers can be prepared ahead of the event. There will also be questions from the floor.

  • End of plenary session - drinks served in the Yacht Club.
