Adrift Film Festival 2020 ONLINE

ADRIFT FILM FESTIVAL - The first and only film festival for Onboard Content Creators. Adrift Film Festival is returning online for its second year to showcase all of the incredibly talented content creators producing some of the most unique and rare footage obtainable. Adrift is the only Film Festival for content creating yacht crew and is a growing community of the industry's most creative minds. Our aim is to encourage creativity and help support natural disaster relief through donations from around the world.

Founded in 2019 by Luxury Yacht Films Founder Shelton Dupreez and Nautic Nomad Co-Founder Randi Barry. Adrift Film Festival 2019 was held on October 23rd 2019 at Park & Ocean in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The decision to make Adrift Film Festival an annual event was based on the overwhelmingly positive response in its inaugural year. With over 300 in-person attendees, more than 100 viewers tuning in via Instagram live, and 134 Video Submissions - the event raised over $2,000 for Operation Topaz with Yacht Aid Global. This year the proceeds raised from the event will be donated to Operation Nasama with Yacht Aid Global to help bring much-needed aid to communities in Vanuatu recovering from the effects of Tropical Cyclone Harold during the COVID19 pandemic.

For those who wish to learn more, RSVP, or submit a film - they can do so via the website

Shelton Dupreez first mentioned the Film Festival idea to Randi Barry during an interview for the Nautic Nomad piece on Luxury Yacht Films back in June 2018. Since then Shelton Dupreez has travelled the world over with his Film Company on some of the most exclusive filming explorations, including capturing never-before-seen shark behavior off the West Coast of Canada with Fisheries and Oceans Canada. Randi Barry is currently a Chief Stewardess.

Subsequent events will be held annually concurrent to the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show to give ease of attendance for yacht crew who are in town. Plans are to continue building the industry's most creative community, and return the live event to Park & Ocean in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Each year there will be new categories and amazing prizes available to win thanks to our faithful sponsors. The goal is to continue to bring awareness and donations for natural disaster relief.
