Counil Member's Bio

Owain Rowlands

Owain Rowlands

Owain Rowlands is one of our youngest on the council. A young man from a small fishing village on Anglesey, North Wales, his sea life started very young travelling on different cargo and passenger ships alongside his father, and then later at the young age of 15 he joined the Royal national Lifeboat Institution as a volunteer crewmember this is where he learnt most of his skills and knowledge about the sea. Looking for a new challenge he decided in 2006 that he wanted to look for better things in life so following in his father’s footsteps he went to sea and stumbled across the yachting industry.

Owain is working towards his OOW 3000t so knows firsthand how much work is involved in getting your qualifications and how much the PYA can help and assist you through the ladder of progression within the industry.
