John Morris

John’s professional yachting career commenced in 1973 with yacht deliveries from the UK. He migrated to the Mediterranean in 1974 and captained a variety of motor yachts until 1995. Thereafter, he progressively became involved in project management for new constructions and is currently engaged in design and construction of large yachts.

John is a founder member of the PYA and was the PYA’s official liaison with the MCA during the formative years whilst seeking recognition for a Professional Certificate of Competence. He represented the PYA in the preparation of the MCA Large Yacht Code; dealing specifically with the Manning issues relating to the introduction of the Class 4 Certificate.
