Jane Hardy – Service Record Book Officer

Trained originally in hotel management and a keen dinghy sailor, these were ideal stepping stones into the world of yachting when I arrived in France many years ago.

Twelve years working on both motor and sailing yachts gave me the opportunity to travel extensively and to become accustomed to interacting with both owners and crew. I hung up my sea boots in 1989 and started working in one of the leading yacht brokerage offices in a junior position.

Now one of the few female yacht brokers in the industry, I am glad to be able to draw on the practical and technical knowledge obtained as yacht crew. This is an invaluable asset and helps me to appreciate the concerns of Captains and crew in relation to my work both as a broker and as SRB Officer for the PYA.
