Welfare Support

The PYA, along with ISWAN and a number of other supporting organisations, has recognised the need for a specialised helpline tailored to supporting yacht crew with the unique challenges they face.

We are proud to announce that we have actively contributed to the development of the 'Yacht Crew Help' helpline, providing guidance and consultation to ISWAN and will continue to do so in the future by active contribution to the services offered.

Professional yacht crew anywhere in the world will now be able to access 24-hour support
via Yacht Crew Help.

Yacht Crew Help - The Lifeline for Crew

  • Direct dial +44 20 3713 7273

  • mail help@yachtcrewhelp.org

  • Provides a free, confidential helpline for seafarers and their families around the world. Yacht Crew Help is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

  • Multilingual and a wide choice of contact methods

The Yacht Crew Help team speaks a wide range of languages. The helpline can be contacted via a number of different methods including telephone (with a callback option), e-mail, Live Chat and WhatsApp.

Whether it is a problem onboard, concerns about family, a health issue, a request for general information, or simply the need to talk to someone, the Yacht Crew Help team is there to offer assistance. They deal with many of the problems in-house and have a team that is trained in emotional support and listening skills. They refer cases to a number of specialist agencies or ISWAN’s regional representatives in the port or country where the seafarer is located to ensure he or she receives the appropriate support.

The PYA is working closely with ISWAN and other organisations to further the development of Yacht Crew Help.  We will continue to campaign for improvements in the treatment of crew and to raise awareness of both poor and excellence in improving the management of the human element.

Your participation, contribution and information will aid us in this quest so please contact us on email, Facebook or Instagram with comments.
